Advocacy

The American Lung Association of Michigan’s advocacy programs seek to influence the development and enforcement of laws and regulations related to lung health at the national, state and local levels, providing authoritative information to policymakers. We recognize that public policy change at all levels of government is key to achieving our mission of preventing lung disease and promoting lung health. Our advocacy programs supports government, corporate and community policies to translate that mission into reality.

Our Advocacy Network is a grassroots tool designed to help you advocate for reducing tobacco use, promoting clean indoor and outdoor air quality, supporting people with asthma, and preventing the spread of tuberculosis. As a member of the Advocacy Network, you will receive Action Alerts via e-mail updating you on critical issues concerning lung health in Michigan.
